The Script...

An Army of One has undergone a final set of revisions since participating in the KCACTF Region V Festival in Fargo, ND. Based on critical responses from the National Playwriting Chair, our Festival Respondents, and audience response I determined that the script could use one more set of minor revisions.

During the course of original production of the play the originating actor who played Josh Now, Joe Carey, commented that An Army of One was a "Living Script" because, in the process of staging the show, there were so many things that were discovered within the text that had the potential to be expanded upon, modified, or simply omitted. An ever-changing script can be difficult on actors, but they all adapted quickly, and fed off the energy of staging such a new work. It was an exciting process for all of us.

Now that the first production of the show has ended, and the curtains closed, I decided to take some time to look over the text and seriously consider some of the feedback I received during the course of the show.

I believe that this most recent version of the script is by far the strongest and cleanest. The script is very marketable in it's current revision. I am now in the process of shopping the play to additional venues for production. We'll see how this process goes.
